This poster is one of the most popular in American anime and very hard to find.

 is a 1995 anime neo-noir cyberpunk thriller film directed by Mamoru Oshii. The film is based on the manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow and was written by Kazunori Ito. It features voice actors Atsuko Tanaka, Akio Otsuka, and Iemasa Iegumi. It is an international co-production between Japan and the UK, with Kodansha, Bandai Visual, and Manga Entertainment as executive producers, and Production IG in charge of animation.

The film is set in Japan in 2029, where cyborg public security investigator Motoko Kusanagi pursues a mysterious hacker by a puppet master. In a technologically advanced world, the film incorporates philosophical themes focusing on self-identity. Music by Kenji Kawai, includes sad Japanese vocals.  The film's visuals were created following traditional cel animation and CGI animation.

After its release, the movie received positive reviews, with critics praising its story, music, and visuals. Although the film was initially considered a box office failure, it gained a cult following on home video. It is considered one of the greatest animated and science fiction films of all time, and is considered a masterpiece for its kind. [8][9][10] The film has inspired filmmakers such as the Wachowski sisters and James Cameron, creator of the Matrix films, who called it "the first truly adult animated film to reach a level of literary and visual excellence."
