The story depicts the confrontation between Gekko Kamen and a mysterious figure who organizes a group of people who are robbing cash in an attempt to build an ideal nation. 

Gekko Kamen (月光仮面) is a TV adventure drama produced by KR Television (now TBS Television) and Senkosha, and aired from February 24, 1958 to July 5, 1959 as the first episode of "Takeda Hour". It is also the name of the masked hero. Originally written by Yasunori Kawauchi.

When it was first broadcast on Radio Tokyo Television (now TBS) in 1958, it boasted high viewer ratings, and Gekko Kamen, played by Oose Koichi, became popular among children all over Japan. It was also made into a film by Toei starring Omura Fumitake. The original story was by Kawauchi Yasunori, the screenplay was by Kawauchi Yasunori and Sawada Yukihiro (We Don't Have a Grave), the director was Sawada Yukihiro (The same film), and the cinematographer was Yamazaki Yoshihiro (Single-person Transfer: Secret Affair).
