 Under the Sea"Original Release Japanese Movie Under the Sea is a 1954 American science fiction adventure film directed by Richard Fleischer and written by Earl Felton. It is based on Jules Verne's 1870 novel of the same name and was produced by Walt Disney Productions. It stars Kirk Douglas, James Mason, Paul Lukas and Peter Lorre. Filmed in Technicolor, it was one of the first feature films shot in CinemaScope. It was also the first Disney feature film distributed by Buena Vista Distribution. The back of the poster contains pencilled notations indicating the month and date of release.
